So I have always loved writing, I enjoy it. It makes me express myself better. I normally feel like a heavy load has been lifted off my shoulders after writing. Whatever it is. Whether am recording what the Lord has spoken to me in my daily fellowship with Him, or am praying for someone and the Holy spirit guides me to write the prayer down in my prayer journal, even writing my thesis (this has been a journey and a story for another day), or even the many unpreached summons that the Lord gives me. writing thrills me.
Recently I was going through my college stuff, mostly books and I came across something that I had written probably when I was in second year or third year. It was just an A3 piece of paper and I begun reading it. To my surprise, it ministered to me. It spoke to my situation at the moment. I really cant remember whether I had listened to a preacher somewhere or read a book to get such an inspiration. So here it is.. I hope it ministers to you as well.
” Everyone of us at some juncture in our lives will have to learn to wait.
Waiting is our destiny as creatures who cannot by themselves bring about what they hope for.
We wait in darkness for a flame we cannon light.
We wait in fear for a happy ending we cannot write.
We wait for a ‘not yet’ that feels like a ‘not ever’.
Waiting is the hardest work of hope.
Abraham waited 24 years before he was blessed with a son.
The Israelites waited 400 years before they were freed from slavery.
God told Moses he would lead the people to the promised land but they had to wait 40 years in the wilderness.
43 times in the old testament people are commanded to wait on the Lord.
Why does God make us wait?
If he can do anything, why doesn’t he bring a relief and answer us now?
What God does in the waiting is as important as what it is we are waiting for. Will you wait on the lord?”
Waiting is tough. I have been there, in fact, I am waiting for many things in my life right now. I know the anxiety it brings along especially if you choose not to look up to Jesus. I have come to understand life is about waiting. Everyone waits. We wait for a bad day to end and terrible nights to just vanish. We wait in queues for our turns in government offices for the people in charge to call out our names and attend to us. We wait for our unborn children with so much eager. We wait for Jesus that we have no clue when He will return. We even wait for our TVs and phones to load and if your phone is like mine you will learn to wait a little longer..lol. My point is, waiting is Gods idea. If you lack patience, let you ask the Lord, it’s one of the fruits of the Holy spirit.
Am still waiting, and I refuse to give up. I will wait. will you?
Perfect Dear. This just came the right time when I almost lost hope. God give me patience
